1. Who we are
OceanicModel ("we," "us") operates the website oceanicmodel.org and the structural-analysis chat product available there. Contact: callum@oceanicmodel.com.
2. What we collect
Account information: your email address, billing details, and Stripe customer identifier — collected when you subscribe via Stripe. Usage data: weekly request counts per model tier, kept so we can enforce subscription quotas. We do not retain the content of your chat messages on our servers; conversation history is stored in your browser's local storage. Technical data: IP address (used only for rate limiting) and standard server logs.
3. How we use it
To deliver the service you subscribed to, enforce quotas, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and communicate about your account. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Third-party processors
Stripe (payments and billing) — receives your name, email, payment details. See stripe.com/privacy. Anthropic (AI model provider) — your prompts are sent to Anthropic to generate responses. Anthropic does not train its public models on inputs sent through the API. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Vercel (hosting) and Redis Cloud (database) — store the records described above.
5. Cookies
We set a single httpOnly cookie ("om_session") to keep you signed in for 30 days. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
6. Your rights
You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, request correction, or request deletion at any time by emailing callum@oceanicmodel.com. Cancelling your subscription stops future billing immediately via Stripe; account deletion can be requested separately.
7. Data retention
Subscriber records are retained while your subscription is active and for up to 24 months after cancellation for tax and accounting purposes. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.
8. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act: • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how it is used. • Right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions. • Right to correct inaccurate personal information. • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the above rights. To exercise any of these rights, email callum@oceanicmodel.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 45 days.
9. Children
OceanicModel is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site and emailed to active subscribers.
